April 2021

Our first issue includes a “Perspective” by former Philharmonic violinist, Dessie Arnold, and a Spotlight on Vivianne Belanger, our Second Flute player. May Day rally information and a message from Campbell MacDonald are also included.

May 2021

“Beyond the Pandemic,” by Diane Dickson, is a highlight of our second issue, delineating the offerings of our peer orchestras during this challenging time. We also feature our Associate Concertmaster, Yana Bourkova-Morunov, as our highlighted musician, and are proud to include an editorial cartoon by the Journal-Gazette’s Gregg Bender.

June 2021

We’re featuring our principal flute player, Luke Fitzpatrick, in this issue, along with a reflection on your letters of support over the past weeks. Also photos from recent performances and information about upcoming summer concerts.

July 2021

“What is Our Orchestra’s Future?" by Diane Dickson is the feature this month. She discusses the work of Michael Kaiser, the current Chair of the DeVos Institute of Arts Management at the University of Maryland, and known as the “Turnaround King.” Cellist, David Rezits, is our featured musician.

August 2021

In this “Focus on Education” issue, we’re highlighting the role of Philharmonic musicians as educators and our performances in school settings. Perspectives from one of our musicians and a music educator from Southwest Allen Community Schools are included. Cindy Greider is our musician focus as she retires from the Philharmonic after 34 years, and we’re featuring Fort Wayne Students in Support of Musicians, a new group formed recently at Purdue University-Fort Wayne.

September 2021

In this month’s issue, Diane Dickson explores our orchestra’s history and legacy. Principal bassist, arranger and composer, Adrian Mann, is our featured musician this month.

November 2021

We’re featuring our ensemble program in this month’s newsletter. Diane Dickson explores the history of these performances. For our Musician Highlight, principal bassist and arranger, Adrian Mann, has written about his ensemble, “The Resonators,” made up of harp, percussion, bass and violin.

January 2022

This month’s issue features our musicians’ community connections, from the Terrible Orchestra, to the Covington Art Fair and more. Deb Graham is our featured musician, and updates and photos are included from the musicians’ bell-ringing campaign for the Salvation Army.

March 2022

Fort Wayne’s bright musical future is the highlight of this month's newsletter in an inciteful article by Diane Dickson. Percussionist, Alison Chorn, is our featured musician, and we’ve included some pictures from our February Masterworks concert.

We’re focused on Downtown Fort Wayne in this issue, with a great article by Diane Dickson and a focus on violinist, Tomer Marcus, who makes his home there. Adrian Mann has provided information about our upcoming Benefit Concert with Moser Woods, and Alison Chorn talks about cats!
